As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining the safety and security of all Lago Vista ISD campuses, the District has updated our uniform procedures to control access and manage visitors to our facilities. In accordance with the Texas Education Code, these procedures are implemented to ensure a secure environment for all students and staff. We ask that you please visit the link below to review our procedures for facility access by visitors and volunteers.
 Lago Vista ISD Facility Access Control and Visitor Management Procedures 

Please understand that expectations and procedures surrounding visitors and volunteers will be stringently upheld and we greatly appreciate your assistance in this effort.  
VISITOR AND VOLUNTEER DEFINITIONS Visitor: An individual present on campus without direct affiliation as an employee or student. This includes parents visiting for lunch or contractors working with individual students.

Volunteer: An individual who is on campus or at a school-related event without direct affiliation as an employee or student and who interacts with students other than their own child.  Examples include class speakers, field trip chaperones, class party helpers and attendees, and school day concessions stand workers. Volunteers must complete an approved background check before participating in any activities and must follow the standard visitor procedures.

VISITOR PROCEDURES
All front office staff are trained on visitor check-in procedures.Upon arrival, visitors MUST check in with the front office.  There, they will be asked for photo identification, which will be scanned.  A badge with the visitor’s destination will be issued if no alerts are indicated.Visitors must wear a visible visitor’s badge or Lago Vista ISD staff badge while on campus.Visitors must return their badge and check out at the front office before leaving.
VOLUNTEER PROCEDURES
Every volunteer must be background checked with a valid photo ID every year.  The volunteer application may be accessed by visiting the following link:Lago Vista ISD Volunteer Application and Criminal Background CheckApproved volunteers must also follow the appropriate visitor procedures.
 ATHLETIC FACILITY ACCESS
Regular visitor procedures shall be followed during school hours.  Visitors must check in and receive a badge from the campus front office.All Lago Vista ISD athletic facilities, fields, and grounds are closed for public use during student activities (e.g., practices, competitions, etc.).Visitor access to athletic practices outside of school hours shall occur at the coach/sponsor’s discretion.  Such visitors shall remain in the area designated by the coach/sponsor.
